Shelfie Privacy Policy
Last updated August 31, 2026
Shelfie is designed to help you track products and expiry dates without advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking.
Information you add
Shelfie stores the product names, expiry dates, status, notes, tags, and photos that you choose to add. The app does not require a Shelfie account.
When iCloud is available, Apple may sync your Shelfie data between devices signed in to your Apple Account. That sync is provided by Apple through iCloud and is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Shelfie does not operate a separate server for this data.
Device features
- Camera and photo-library access are used only when you choose a product image.
- Product-name suggestions use Apple Vision processing on your device. Images are not sent to a Shelfie-operated server for recognition.
- Local notifications are used for expiry reminders you enable.
- Product names and expiry information may be indexed on your device so you can find Shelfie products with Spotlight.
- The widget receives a limited local snapshot of unfinished products through Shelfie’s App Group container.
Tracking and advertising
Shelfie does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. Shelfie does not sell personal data.
Your choices
You can edit or delete products and photos inside Shelfie. You can change camera, photo, and notification permissions in System Settings. You can manage iCloud storage and backups through your Apple Account settings.
